Kogenate approved for continuous infusion
The European Union has been busy issuing approvals for haemophilia treatment products lately. In addition to the approval of storage of Advate at room temperature, Bayer`s Kogenate recombinant FVIII concentrate product has been approved for continuous infusion in Haemophilia A patients undergoing major surgery. The benefit of continuous infusion is that factor levels can be controlled more precisely thus reducing the risk of bleeding complications.
