PWH in Pondicherry, India get financial assistance
At a function organised by the Haemophilia Society of Pondicherry, the regional Social Welfare Minister announced that patients with haemophilia will be included in the regional government`s support scheme for patients with blood pressure problems and diabetes. This will offer patients a monthly allowance for purchasing medicine.
At the local university hospital, steps are being taken to stock more products for treatment of haemophilia.

It is encouraging to see that Haemophilia Societies are able to influence decision-makers to gain support for their cause. This should be an inspiration to other Haemophilia Societies in developing countries, where government officials have yet to provide any support.
