Bestest buddies... Out for a drink or two after a long day of congress sessions.

Out dining at an interesting Japanese restaurant in Gastown. Despite some of us knowing a bit of Japanese, we managed to embarrass ourselves by ordering one dish each and then not knowing whether to share them or not. In any case the food was tasty and we had fun! Unique about this restaurant was that whenever guests entered or left, one of the waiters would shout something in Japanese and then all the other waiters and the chefs would reply. We do not have a clue what they were shouting, though...

A gang of NMO Training participants meet at the congress.

Two otters chillin' out at the Vancouver Aquarium, where the congress social evening was held. The aquarium also features dolphins, beluga whales, seals as well as many smaller types of fish mostly from the north western coast of Canada.

A view down a typical Chinatown street.

The Capilano suspension bridge crossing the Capilano river some 70 meters below. Originally made from hemp rope it has since been reinforced with steel cables. Supposedly this bridge will support over 1100 people. Walking across it you can clearly feel it swaying under your feet.

A pond on the other side of the Capilano river. This site also houses the Treetop Adventure consisting of shorter suspension bridges linking the tree tops of giant cedar and hemlock trees.

The trains makes a stop in Jasper on its way across the Trans Canadian Railway.

Another stunning view from Jasper amidst the snow-clad Rocky Mountains.

Low-hanging clouds shroud the top of the mountains while trees cover the base.

The quintessential Canadian landscape combining endless forests, gushing rivers and picturesque mountains.

One of the many marinas along False Creek on the south side of the downtown peninsula. This spot was remarkably quiet considering its close proximity to downtown.

A view from the Granville Bridge overlooking Granville Island (foreground) towards the mountains behing North Vancouver.

The outside of the Museum of Anthropology with First Nations totem poles and a traditional house in the foreground. The Museum is located on the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus, which occupies a large area at the tip of Point Grey.

The Capilano suspension bridge spanning the Capilano river.

Another view of the suspension bridge giving an indication of just how long it really is.

One of two grizzly bears in the small reserve at the top of Grouse Mountain.

A view from Grouse Mountain over downtown Vancouver. There was still a thick layer of snow at the top.

The Lions Gate Bridge crossing the Burrard Inlet connecting Stanley Park to the south with North Vancouver to the north. The bridge was built by the Scottish Guiness family in 1936.

The dolphin show at the Vancouver Aquarium. Can you spot the dolphin?

Up close and personal...

A not too charming fish swims by in the remarkable huge indoor fish tank. Do you know what kind of fish it is?

One of the medical session held in the main ballroom. This session was about augmenting the effect of FVIII by injecting FX.

The maple leaf flag against the backdrop of Stanley Park, the Lions Gate bridge and the mountains.

A spectacular view over the northern end of Howe Sound on the Sea-to-Sky Highway leading from Vancouver to Whistler.

A view from the Whistler Gondola. The top of the mountain was still covered with snow and people were out skiing and snowboarding. The bottom part of the mountain was used for downhill mountain biking. We actually saw a brown bear when we went up on the gondola.

Relaxing at a café in Whistler Village, enjoying the sunshine. 30 mins. later the cloud building in the distance brought rain, though it cleared again before we left.

Shannon Falls near the city of Squamish. Its 335m drop makes it the third highest in British Columbia and the sixth highest in the world.
