Questions and answers
How much does the bleeding disorder affect your life?
I’m very lucky because I’ve had some problems during my first years of life but nowadays I only need factor VIII concentrates when I undergo surgery or dental operation.
Which possibilities for treatment do you have?
I can have treatment on demand with no problems. I can go to the hospital to pick up my treatment for several days in case I needed it.
What kind of contact do you have with other young people with bleeding disorders?
I’ve been involved in my NMO since my haemophilia was discovered. My mother was part of the Steering Committee so I was attending the summer camps and later I got involved on the board.
What would you like to know about other young people with bleeding disorders around the world?
It would be very interesting to know how are people (specially from developing countries) managing their illness. In my opinion it is important for luckier people with haemophilia knowing how the rest of haemophilia population is living. Doing so, we will be aware of how lucky we are.
